Executive Leadership Development Programme
Two or Three Day Programme
The Executive LDP is designed for leaders who want the input of a focused Leadership Development intervention in their lives. It is useful to newly appointed leaders who have the technical skills needed to run their organisations, but feel they need to better understand their leadership role, responsibility, strengths and areas of needed development in order to get the best out of the organisation they are leading. Seasoned leaders also find this short course greatly beneficial as it provides an understanding and opportunity to practice the structure of leadership. For this latter group, this is a time of introspection for improved leadership practice, and reflection in identifying possible new leaders in their organisations.
The Executive LDP is presented over 3 days of intense input and exercises (in some instances, we can trim the programme down to 2 days). It covers the same areas as the comprehensive Monthly LDP indicated above, but with greater speed and expectation of accelerated learning from a base of practical experience of leadership. Obviously each section cannot be dealt with in as much detail or depth as in the Monthly LDP, but the facilitator will pursue discussions related to the needs of the delegates as leadership structures and styles are unpacked and explored.
The Executive LDP will also assess the leadership foundational strength of each delegate and the leadership styles of the delegates from the assessment tools associated with this programme.
Extra reading will be encouraged before, during and after the 3 day course.
It is ideal for delegates that are time constrained yet wanting a significant input that can give them the tools needed to improve their leadership and give them a strategy for lifelong leadership development.
Leadership Seminar (Block approach)
This block approach to developing leaders can be part of a Masters Degree Programme. It is an accredited 25% of a Masters In Organisational Leadership Programme through an affiliated Mode 2 university.
Delegates and learners are expected to attend an intense 3 week residential programme. Weekends are free time but usually some hours during these weekends are also devoted to research and assignments.
There are two distinct sections in the Leadership Seminar:
The Structure of Leadership
Styles of Leadership
Leadership Seminar (Block) intended learning objectives
STRUCTURE OF LEADERSHIP
Leadership Structure examines and identifies the components of the universal essential leadership structure for personal leadership empowerment.
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:

STYLES OF LEADERSHIP
Leadership Styles examines and identifies the four leadership styles as they have been effective through history and the translation of these styles into an integrated post-modern application of leadership style related to the needs of the led community. The development of recognition of these styles with their usual strengths and weaknesses in the delegates/candidates gives focus to their own effectiveness and impact of their extrinsic leadership practice.
On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Strategic Planning
Strategic Planning is formulated through a facilitated process (usually workshop style) that focuses on providing the Executive or leadership team of organisations with direction, a better understanding of roles and functions, a Macro Strategic understanding that leads towards micro strategic planning and individual performance management in the organisation. The facilitated process can last from 2 to 6 days, depending on the size and complexity of the needed strategy.
What follows is the usual framework used to develop strategic plans for organisations. It is based on 11 steps through 3 tiers of activity - from values and direction to external factors to internal action.
