Meet Stephan Brits, founder of Magnificent Barista Boys who started his coffee journey when he joined TriBeCa Coffee Company in 2006. It is here where he got hooked on the magic of brewing the best cup of coffee.
At TriBeCa he develop his regional coffee knowledge, had the opportunity to drive quality and consistency in stores, and trained many outstanding baristas.
“There is something amazing about taking someone that doesn’t know anything about coffee and equipping them with the knowledge and technical skill to make a cup of high-end specialty coffee,” says Stephan.
For him coffee and service is a passion and he lives to take others on this magical journey of discovering the kaleidoscope of coffee blends, flavours and aromas and teaching them to be their own barista.
In 2013 Stephan and his wife Kim, set out to develop a coffee business that was centred on excellent service from professionally trained baristas, and top quality products from leading roasts.
Having excelled at SCASA Barista Championships, Stephan held valuable insights around artisan coffee, and much time was spent perfecting the company’s first roast, the Original blend.
Today, MBB has 15 premium products available to buy online and @Home store nationwide.
They specialise in catering for weddings, corporate functions, exhibitions, sporting events and really anywhere there is a demand for great coffee.
The brand follows a classic 1920s feel and soon adopted the bowler hat as an emblem of barista pride.
Their signature vintage coffee carte, complete with antique Italian roasting machines, customized with copper and wood trimmings is managed by professionally trained baristas, producing full-bodied coffees to be enjoyed in any environment and any event.
